    Leuven is the worldwide Headquarter of Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world’s largest brewing group and one of the five largest consumer-goods companies in the world.

  • Library Leuven

    The University Library of Leuven was destroyed on 25 August 1914. 230,000 volumes were lost in the destruction, including Gothic and Renaissance manuscripts, a collection of 750 medieval manuscripts, and more than 1,000 incunabula (books printed before 1501). The destruction of the library shocked the world.

  • Gasthuisberg

    UZ Leuven (associated with the KU Leuven) is a world famous University Hospital and provides highest quality care in all fields of medicine. It is the largest academic hospital in the Benelux.

  • Arenberg

    The Arenberg Castle has been the castle of the lords of Heverlee since the12th century. In 1916 the duke of Arenberg donated the domain to the university of Leuven. The castle is now used by the Engineering Science faculty of the K.U. Leuven.

  • College

    The Pope’s College is situated in the centre of Leuven. The college for theology students was founded in 1523 by Pope Adrian VI, a former professor of the university. The Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven.) is the largest and oldest university of the Low Countries (Benelux) and the oldest Catholic university WorldWide, still in existence.
